Focus on the 2007 program

"Tales around the world - life stories of people with nature"

In 2007, Veolia Environnement is to organize "Tales around the world - life stories of people with nature", its fourth environmental awareness campaign aimed at students between 8 and 11 years of age.

"Life stories of people with nature"

In this new campaign, children from some thirty countries around the world will reflect on the fundamental connection that always exists between people and nature. Through the magnificent works housed in the quai Branly Museum in Paris, they will discover the legends, myths, rituals and customs that characterize the peoples of the five continents, and which evoke earth, air, fire, water and weather.

Once this work of exploration has been completed, the students will write a short story and will design a mask that will express the importance of the links between people and nature.

In 2007, children are allowing the earth to have its say:

What do they think about the depletion of natural resources?
How do they feel about the extinction of entire species?
What about global warming?
What do they think of human activity and its effects?
Do they think that humans have any respect for the planet any more...?

All these questions are guaranteed to trigger a wealth of opinion and discussion between generations.
